The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is a 5-seater crossover SUV that has been in production from 2017 to the present. The Eclipse Cross is one of the most sought-after SUVs in New Zealand thanks to its outstanding performance and reliability.
The Eclipse Cross slots between the Outlander and the RVR and comes in a coupe body style that follows a design concept known as Dynamic Shield, which combines thin and sharp LED headlights with large fog lights at the lower end, which gives it a strong, masculine look.
Just like any other car, the Eclipse Cross is susceptible to mechanical problems. Below are some of the common issues we’ve observed and gathered from owners.
- Excessive oil consumption
- Rattling noises from the clutch
- Loss of power
- Brake pedal pulses
- Transmission slipping
- Airbags not deploying as they are expected to
- Engine stalling or a filing
- Fluid leaking from the suspension strut
- Corrosion on the fuel filler door
- Difficulty starting in certain temperature conditions
- Pull to one side when driving
If you are considering buying the Eclipse Cross, avoid models manufactured before 2019. We recommend you read the Buyer’s Guide and the Owner’s Manual.
