Performance
The 2019 Axela offers outstanding performance on the road, as Mazda has prioritized excellent driving characteristics. The base 2.0-litre engine can sprint from 0-60mph in around 8 seconds, while the 2.5-litre engine accelerates from 0-60mph in 7.4 seconds. The turbocharged 2.5-liter engine is the most powerful and offers the best acceleration, but also the lowest fuel consumption. The Axela also offers a comfortable ride and thanks to its well-tuned suspension system, it absorbs most bumps in the road well. The front and rear wheels are spaced further apart than in many other small cars, giving the Axela a more planted feel. The steering is quick and precise with well-controlled body movements and composure in corners. The brake pedal is firm and gives the driver a confident response.

The Axela does not have many complex features or systems. However, the Mazda Axela is not perfect like any other car. There have been reports of engine stalling, forward collision avoidance problems, faulty thermostats, gear shifting problems, and squealing brakes.
